南から帰った兵隊が おれたちの班に入ってきた マラリヤがなおるまでいるのだそうな 大切にもってきたのであろう 小さい木綿袋に 見たこともない色んな木の種子 おれたちは暖炉に集って その種子を手にして説明をまった これがマンゴウの種子 樟のような大木に まっ赤な大きな実がなるという これがドリアンの種子 ああこのうまさといったら 気も狂わんばかりだ 手をふるわし 身もだえさえして 語る南の国の果実 おれたち初年兵は この石ころみたいな種子をにぎって 消えかかった暖炉のそばで 吹雪をきいている ●図書カード
