序（『伸子』） 宮本百合子 この小説は、大正十三年の九月から十五年の九月までの間に、一部分ずつ改造に掲載されたものだ。 書き始めてから、終るまでの間に足掛三年経って居る。其故、擱筆当時に見てさえも、最初の部分は、旧作の感があった。其後、全体を一纏めにする為にひどく時間をかけたし、印刷にかかってからも手間どり、今は事実上旧作になった。然し、この作品は自分の生活と密接な関係のあったものだし、作の上に年輪のように発育の痕跡が現れて居る点、自分は愛を感じて居る。 昭和二年十一月二十三日 〔一九二八年三月〕
