ALEXANDRE-PHILIPPE-REGNIER DE MASSA MARQUIS DE MASSA, soldier, composer, and French dramatist, was born in Paris, December 5, 1831. He selected the military career and received a commission in the cavalry after leaving the school of St. Cyr.
