Pagera Editor's Note

This is a Greek edition of Karl Marx's Capital, published in Athens by Eleftheroudakis in 1921. It is not a full translation but a condensed version of the opening parts of the first volume (1867), based on Paul Lafargue's abridgment, with an introduction by the economist Vilfredo Pareto and a short biography of Marx. Part One, on capital and money, covers the commodity, exchange and the circulation of commodities; Part Two, on the transformation of money into capital, goes as far as surplus value, constant and variable capital and the rate of surplus value. Lafargue's notes follow. The text is in Greek with modernized monotonic accents.
