Pagera Editor's Note

This second volume of the complete Yule-Cordier edition of The Travels of Marco Polo continues Henry Yule's annotated translation in the 1903 edition revised by Henri Cordier. It resumes Book Two at chapter 35 with Polo's journeys through the interior of Cathay to the west and southwest, and southward through Manzi, or southern China, to the port of Zayton. Book Three turns to the Indian seas, from Japan and Southeast Asia to India, Arabia and the east coast of Africa, and Book Four tells of wars among the Mongol princes and of the northern lands. Appendices, Cordier's 1920 addenda and an index complete the volume.
