歌のいろ／＼ 石川啄木 （一） ○日毎に集つて來る投書の歌を讀んでゐて、ひよいと妙な事を考へさせられることがある。――此處に作者その人に差障りを及ぼさない範圍に於て一二の例を擧げて見るならば、此頃になつて漸く手を着けた十月中到着の分の中に、神田の某君といふ人の半紙二つ折へ横に二十首の歌を書いて、『我目下の境遇』と題を付けたのがあつた。 ○讀んでゐて私は不思議に思つた。それは歌の上手な爲ではない。歌は字と共に寧ろ拙かつた。又その歌つてある事の特に珍らしい爲でもなかつた。私を不思議に思はせたのは、脱字の多い事である。誤字や假名違ひは何百といふ投書家の中に隨分やる人がある。寧ろ驚く位ある、然し恁に脱字の多いのは滅多にない。要らぬ事とは思ひながら數へてみると、二十首の中に七箇所の脱字があつた。三首に一箇所の割合である。 ○歌つてある歌には、母が病氣になつて秋風が吹いて來たといふのがあつた。僻心を起すのは惡い／＼と思ひながら何時しか夫が癖になつたといふのがあつた。十八の歳から生活の苦しみを知つたといふのがあつた。安らかに眠つてゐる母の寢顏を見れば涙が流れるといふのがあつた。弟の無邪氣なのを見て傷
