処方秘箋 泉鏡花 一 此の不思議なことのあつたのは五月中旬、私が八歳の時、紙谷町に住んだ向うの平家の、お辻といふ、十八の娘、やもめの母親と二人ぐらし。少しある公債を便りに、人仕事などをしたのであるが、つゞまやかにして、物綺麗に住んで、お辻も身だしなみ好く、髪形を崩さず、容色は町々の評判、以前五百石取の武家、然るべき品もあつた、其家へ泊りに行つた晩の出来事で。家も向ひ合せのことなり、鬼ごツこにも、はじきにも、其家の門口、出窓の前は、何時でも小児の寄合ふ処。次郎だの、源だの、六だの、腕白どもの多い中に、坊ちやん／＼と別ものにして可愛がるから、姉はなし、此方からも懐いて、ちよこ／＼と入つては、縫物を交返す、物差で刀の真似、馴ツこになつて親んで居たけれども、泊るのは其夜が最初。 西の方に山の見ゆる町の、上の方へ遊びに行つて居たが、約束を忘れなかつたから晩方に引返した。之から夕餉を済してといふつもり。 小走りに駆けて来ると、道のほど一町足らず、屋ならび三十ばかり、其の山手の方に一軒の古家がある、丁ど其処で、兎のやうに刎ねたはずみに、礫に躓いて礑と倒れたのである。 俗にいふ越後は八百八後家、お辻が
